Position:

EAF & LF Operator

Eligibility:

Full-time ITI in Fitter / Electrician / Welder / Foundryman or any other relevant trade

Minimum 3 years of experience in EAF Operations after obtaining the ITI qualification

Age: Above 18 years

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Furnace (LF)

Operate all preheaters in the EAF & LF area

Manage ladles between EAF, LF, and Continuous Caster

Ensure smooth slag dumping operations for caster return ladles

Handle metal dumping operations in emergency situations

Coordinate with crane operators for heat lifting and ladle movement

Operate ladle tilters and transfer cars for transferring ladles and tundishes

Support operational improvement activities

Monitor receipt and consumption of ladle consumables, ferro alloys, fluxes, electrodes, cord wire, samplers, top lances, safety appliances, fire extinguishers, and first aid boxes

Ensure adequate availability of consumables in material bins

Ensure slag-free tapping and inspect the tapping stream

Maintain availability of all materials required for heat making and tapping

Inspect the health and condition of EAF & LF equipment

Maintain chemistry and temperature control as per grade requirements
